Home Alone

Today was our first day back to work and the first day for Sibber to be home alone in his crate.  We had tried short duration run-throughs over the weekend that, to be honest, didn't work out too well.  Alot of whining and ear-piercing yelping (and that was from me and Karen).  So, I had a little trepidation this morning.

I walked and walked him.  I ran and ran and played in the back yard. to burn off some of his energy.   I mustered my best calm assertive energy, led Sibber to his crate, and headed out the door without hoopla, without looking back.

By the time I reached the car, I could hear his high pitched yips and whining.  I tried to stay positive and drove to work.  Time: 0845

Karen and I returned to the house at 5 PM fully bracing ourselves for the worst; crap and pee in the crate and all over Sibber and ongoing whining and yelping.  However, as we approached the house there was only silence.  Then, when we entered, once again without fanfare or any sort of excitement whatsoever, we were amazed to find Sibber just lying there in his crate, no crap, no pee, nothing!

We took him outside where he immediately relieved himself and we ran and played.

Yep.  It was a good day.  We'll take 'em when we get 'em
